Medha Saini, a teenage skater from Faridabad, has proved her skills on the skating ring several times. Her passion, spirit and involvement have made her synonymous with the upcoming game of roller hockey in the country.

A plus two student of DAV Public School, Sector 14 here, she is awaiting her board examination results as well as preparing for the `Women’s World Roller Hockey Championship’ for this year. She is a member of the National Roller Hockey Team. Although she started playing the game only at the age of 14, she picked up well and made her mark at national and international levels. Skating is no new game for her family.

Her younger sister, Khusboo Saini, a plus one student, is already a national sensation in skating. But Medha opted for roller hockey and proved her mettle. Starting with the State Roller Skating Championship in 1999, she had already participated at the national level and helped Haryana claim gold in 2000. She got selected in the national team the very next year and took part in Ninth Asian Roller Skating (Hockey) Championship held in Taiwan in October 2001. She also helped her state to win top honours in the 39th National Championship at Vishakhapatnam last year. With Mr John David as her coach, she is busy these days preparing for the forthcoming World Championship scheduled to be held in Belgium later this year.
