hey guys ... what up bro...
its awesome to meet people who are so dedicate to the skating scene ... no lifestyle....

my name is Neil... and well i .. i not a speed skater... but more of a aggressive style skater...

you know the guys who like jumping off ledges and down stairs. etc..

i skate in Mumbai...
and i don't really think it matters how long you have been skating ( 8 years now) but how much you are addicted to the sport .. Quitting is for loser.. not for skaters...

my main goal i guess is to make skating universally recognized in India...
i mean kids dont even thing skating is a sport .. no less a culture...
and well kids are the future only by spreading awarness of the sport will the industry grow..

AND OFF COURSE SKATE THE HELL OUT OF LIFE....

Well, I'm not sure just how active this forum is or if people even get on here but ah well.
So I'm an university student in Mumbai/Bombay.
I used to skate as a child on quads but I picked up inline skating a year ago and I don't plan on ever giving it up. Well, that's all about me. Rolling Eyes

Hello everyone,

Here is my story of How I came into the skate world.

Last year I went to France on deputation work from my company and was amazed to see the sporting spirit there. Every kid, on the street and on parks playing with their bikes, skateboard and roller skates and just seeing this prompted me to look for something to my kids. Since I have two kids with the age group of 10 and 7, I bought two pairs of inline skates from decathlon and sent to my home.(this was the first time I ever see an inline skate in my life)

On returning to India, to my home, I was amazed to see how my kids learned all the tricks by themselves.

For the last one month I am taking them to a professional coach in besant nagar beach.
I would like to move my kids to speed or aggressive skates from the plastic skates I originally bought from Decathlon for 14 Euro(around 1000INR).
It seems buying a professional skate is a big task in India. Companies like Powerslide, Bont and Luigino seem very expensive for a even person like me who is in Software field. I wonder how a middle class Indian can buy these shoes for their kids.

Thanks for Karnal Show Company, finally I settled for a proskate brand with 110mmX3 wheel config for a price closer to 10K (even this seems costly to me). I am going to order this by this week.

BTW, I bought a shoe for myself on E-Bay Global Site from Roller Derby which has 80mmX4 Hybrid skates and slowly learning. Being at 40, I am bit shy to practice on the ring when there are people. So I am going there on odd time.

I appreciate your comments...
