CHENNAI: K Aarathy has done it again. She has proved her superiority to be labelled as the fastest Indian skater in the junior ladies section. She is the first skater from India to achieve this incredible feat.

Aarathy was placed 13th in the point to point 15 km race track event. She is a tenth standard student at Bhawan’s Rajaji Vidhyashram in Chennai.

“This is a first step to achieving a medal in the next World Roller Speed Skating Championship”, said her father C Kasturiraj. Aarathy was a recipient of the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement for the year 2008 from Smt Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson , United Progressive Alliance. The award included a silver medal and a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
